Chatgptを活用して英単語帳を作りました
ふとした思いつきから、自分がこれまで学習してきた英単語の記録を英単語帳としてまとめる上でChatGPTを活用できるのではないかと思い立ち、実際に英単語帳としてまとめ、Kindleで販売するところまでやりました。
【翻訳家と学ぶ上級英単語】という名前の単語帳です。99円ですので、もし気になったらお手に取ってみて頂ければ幸いです。
その作成意図やプロンプトなどについてはその単語帳の後書きでも触れているのですが、ここではもう少しだけそのプロンプトについて掘り下げて解説をします。以下のプロンプトについては再配布などしても問題ありません。その場合、著者の情報を何らかの形で併記して頂けるととても嬉しく思います。著者情報についてはAmazonの著者ページやこのサイトのAboutにある情報を参照して頂ければ幸いです。
正直なところ、プロンプトを公開するかどうかなどについては色々鑑みて少し迷ったところがあったのですが、遅かれ早かれ誰かがこのやり方を考えて発表するだろう、と思ったので、現段階での公開に踏み切りました。そのため、どうかあくまで常識の範囲内でのご利用をお願いします。
作成に利用したGPTのバージョンについて
本英単語帳は、ChatGPT4を用いて作成しています。ChatGPTは2022年4月現在、3.5と4のバージョンが出ており、3.5は基本無料で利用可能で、4は有料となっています。4の方が遥かにパフォーマンスに優れており、以下のプロンプトは4を用いることを想定しています。

プロンプトが問題なく理解された場合、ChatGPTは"OK"と返事をします。その後、例文を作って欲しい英単語をそのまま入力し、送信してください。英単語については、最大で10個くらいを一気に入力できます（それ以上になると、返答が途中で止まったりします）。英単語はカンマで区切ったり、改行したりして、別個の英単語であることを示してください。
プロンプトの中の "The difficulty of the sample text should be C2 or higher in CEFR." とは、「CEFRのレベルでC2以上の難しさのサンプルテキストにせよ」という指示です。例文のレベルは、ここで調整が可能です。また、5の出力例については、1〜4の内容の補足となっています。実際にどのように英語を出力して欲しいか、そのレベル感はどれくらいかといったことを、ここで指示することができます。この辺りについては、適宜調整をしてください。
出力を繰り返すと、たまに英文のレベルが変化したり、品詞が間違っていたり、英文中での英単語の使用が標準的でなくなったりすることがあります。この場合、新しい会話をスタートして、またプロンプトを入れるところから始めるのが良いでしょう。それでも間違いが含まれることはあるので、出力された英文や内容に疑問があれば、必ずチェックすることが大切です。
ChatGPT3.5のプロンプト
以上のプロンプトは、ChatGPT4の処理能力あっての出力となります。ChatGPT3.5はパフォーマンスがそれに劣るので、もう少しシンプルな出力しか期待できません。とは言え、英語学習目的であれば充分でもあります。以下、その簡略化したプロンプトを掲載します。

こちらのプロンプトでは、難易度調整と例文を省略しています。両方を入れたプロンプトも試してみましたが、3.5の処理能力では完全な再現はできませんでした。とは言え、5に出力例を追加すればより安定的な出力は可能そうでしたので、求める出力のイメージをChatGPT4用のプロンプトを参考に追加するのは良いかもしれません。この場合の一例としては、次のようなプロンプトが考えられます。

上記のXXにはCEFRで希望するレベル感を入れてください。ただし、GPT3.5の場合はこのレベル感が充分に反映されない傾向にありました。
そのため、こちらのプロンプトで出力される英文や内容は、かなりシンプルなものになりますが、それでも英単語を覚えるきっかけとして使う分には問題ありません。もちろん、間違いが含まれる可能性はあるので、それについてはチェックが必要です。英単語を覚えるときに間違いが含まれていないかという批判的な目も一緒に養うつもりで取り組むと良いかと思います。
おまけ: 目次設定などについて
Wordで原稿を作成した際、見出し設定と目次設定を行うことで、Kindle内でページ内のリンクを作成することができます。今回の場合、本題とそれ以外の行き来が楽な方が良いと思い、目次と内部リンクを作成しています。
これについては、Wordでの目次設定を参照してください。
表紙についてはCanvaを使用して作成していますが、今後、余裕があればプロの方に依頼して表紙を変更したりするかもしれません。
